Scenic mountain views, rolling green meadows, traditional farmhouses and bright blue skies welcome you in Altötting, a famous pilgrimage town in the heart of Bavaria and provided us with the perfect inspiration for the Gasthof Scharnagl interior refurbishment project.

Scenic mountain views, rolling green meadows, traditional farmhouses and bright blue skies welcome you in Altötting, a famous pilgrimage town in the heart of Bavaria and provided us with the perfect inspiration for the Gasthof Scharnagl interior refurbishment project.

Each of the family-run hotel’s 12 guest rooms have been individually furnished, using a mix of new and refurbished furniture.

The room’s most functional pieces (the bed, desk, and cabinet) were explicitly designed for this project, with traditional Bavarian house balconies providing the inspiration for the bed and desks’ legs.

Whilst keeping with the region's deep traditions, we wanted to bring a unique mix of old and new to the space design.

Old furniture pieces found during the hotel’s renovation were given a refurbished new life, and fun and playful elements such as traditional heart-shaped decorative elements added a touch of whimsy to the interior designs.
